What's Wrong with this Picture?

Too many people don’t understand they have a legal right to take photographs and record video in public places, and that it’s protected under the First Amendment of the Constitution.

The practice of street photography has a long tradition in New York City and its purpose varies from hobby and artistic expression to memory making and journalistic documentation.

But the freedom to photograph and film has long been taken for granted and challenged.

This story was produced for a long-form assignment in my TV News Writing & Reporting class. Later, I turned the topic into a print piece for Roosevelt Island's The Main Street WIRE.

Questions surrounding whether the governor will appoint the six-winning candidates in February's RIOC Board Nominee Election have concerned election organizers for months, but it's not the only questions on their minds.

This piece was a deadline story. It was produced, shot, edited, published to the Web and turned into a print story within two days. The print version was published in The Main Street WIRE.

Hatikva: Israel's National Anthem

My Hatikva was freelance work for Pearlman Advisors. This piece was filmed for the Israeli Tourism Ministry for the year-long celebration of Israel's 60th Birthday. I directed, filmed and edited the video which is being aired on Israeli TV. It also appears on Israel60.org, MyHatikva.com and SinaiLive.com where I serve as a Web site consultant.
